Low level, low flow and high temps sum up the water conditions on the river.
The weather over the past couple weeks has been blistering hot and the walleye bite on the river has followed suit. This is pretty typical during the first real hot stretch every year, it just happened really early this year.
Dragging jigs/bait downstream and pulling bait on three way rigs up and down stream have still been the go to methods for my boat most every day. We have had some luck pulling and throwing crankbaits too but very limited time spent with these techniques.
It sounds like the crankbait bite on the lake is going strong as well from those I have talked to.
A run down of pictures below....Me with nice fish caught dragging a jig/crawler
Jordan Chlan, Ted Nytes and Pete Nytes are in the next three. Lots of fish from start to finish with this New Prague Crew.
Clint Evans, Jack Penergast and Butch Evans show off some from Monday. Thanks to Mitch Mcartor for heading this crew in my direction.
Steve Marrs with a couple nice crappies taken out of the brush and Jim Wissler and Mike Triggs and Steve with the eyes we kept for that day.
Brian Schlup and Marty Sutter with one that went back and some that went home.
Xavier, Soren and Torrey Laack are in the next two. Xavier with a throwback and the whole crew with a pair that were caught at the same time.
Last is Mike Dochterman with one that was a little too big.
